Frequently Asked Questions

Questions? You're not alone. Here's what real people like you want to know!

What Does
“Dr. Murse / CannabisDNP” Mean?

"Murse" is a term sometimes used for a male nurse. I embraced it early in my nursing career as a way to own the role with pride and humility. Over time, it became part of my professional identity — grounded in bedside care, real patient conversations, and evidence-based practice.

"Dr." reflects earning my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and my board certification as an Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP-BC). It represents advanced clinical training and a commitment to applying research to real-world practice.

"CannabisDNP" brings those two worlds together — advanced nursing practice education and advanced education in cannabinoid science. The name reflects a commitment to applying the same rigor, safety standards, and evidence-based thinking to cannabinoid topics that are used in primary care practice.

This brand was built to elevate the conversation around cannabinoids — moving beyond hype toward health literacy and science-based education.

The Meaning Behind the Circle and the Red Triangle in the logo?

The circle represents balance, whole-person care, and continuous growth. It is inspired by the ensō — a hand-drawn Zen circle symbolizing progress, presence, and the beauty of imperfection. In cannabinoid science, learning never stops — the circle reflects our commitment to evolving with the evidence.

The red triangle represents structure and stability. It also symbolizes delta (Δ) — the scientific symbol for change. In chemistry, delta indicates that specific conditions have been applied to create transformation. Meaningful progress requires intention and the right environment.

Together, the circle and triangle represent balanced innovation — grounded in science, guided by structure, and always evolving.

Grounded. Structured. Evidence-informed.

What makes CannabisDNP products different from other edibles?

Unlike most edibles on the market, Dr. Murse Hemp Wellness Blends are uniquely developed by a licensed Doctor of Nursing Practice with advanced training in cannabinoid science and pharmacology. Each formulation is grounded in evidence-informed research and thoughtfully crafted to complement wellness-oriented goals — including everyday calm, restful nights, and physical ease.

Our products are made with clean, minimal ingredients and manufactured in cGMP-compliant facilities that uphold rigorous food-grade quality and safety standards. We source our hemp-derived cannabinoids and terpenes exclusively from USDA-compliant farms to ensure consistency, purity, and potency at every step. Every batch is independently lab-tested — delivering a trusted product rooted in transparency and community-centered integrity.

Will I get high from these products?

Our products contain hemp-derived Delta-9 THC, which may produce psychoactive effects depending on serving size, metabolism, and individual tolerance.

Each formulation is intentionally developed to provide a balanced, controlled experience. We focus on the thoughtful combination of cannabinoids and carefully selected terpene profiles to create a more refined and consistent effect profile — rather than relying on THC alone. This approach reflects the concept of complementary interaction, where naturally occurring compounds work together within the broader endocannabinoid system. Individual experiences may vary.

These products are intended for adult use only and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

Are your products legal in Wisconsin?

Yes. Our hemp-derived Delta-9 products comply with the 2018 Farm Bill and are federally legal. In Wisconsin, hemp-derived Delta-9 THC is allowed as long as it contains less than 0.3% THC by dry weight.

What is Delta-9 THC, and how does it work?

Delta-9 THC (Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol) is the primary psychoactive cannabinoid found naturally in cannabis. The "Delta-9" designation refers to the location of a specific double bond on its molecular structure, which distinguishes it from other similar compounds like Delta-8 or Delta-10 THC.

Delta-9 THC interacts with the body's endocannabinoid system (ECS) — a complex cell-signaling network involved in maintaining internal balance. It binds primarily to CB1 receptors in the brain and central nervous system, and to a lesser extent CB2 receptors found throughout the body. There are more interactions, but we will keep the information more digestible for now. This interaction influences how certain signals are processed. The overall experience can vary depending on serving size, formulation, delivery method, and individual tolerance.

When formulated thoughtfully and used responsibly, Delta-9 THC can be incorporated as part of a mindful, plant-based wellness routine. Individual experiences may vary.

What is CBD, and how is it different from THC?

CBD (cannabidiol) is a non-intoxicating cannabinoid at typical serving sizes, though it is considered psychoactive in a technical sense because it interacts with systems that influence mood, perception, and cognition. Unlike THC, CBD does not produce the euphoric effects commonly associated with cannabis.

From a receptor standpoint, THC primarily engages CB1 receptors directly. CBD functions differently — it interacts at a separate site on the receptor and may influence how the receptor responds to other compounds. A simple way to think about this: THC engages the receptor directly, while CBD may subtly shape how that engagement is experienced. When combined, cannabinoids can create a layered effect through their interaction within the body's broader endocannabinoid system.

Individual responses vary based on personal factors and biochemistry.

How do I know these products are safe?

Safety is at the core of everything we do. We source our hemp from USDA-compliant farms in Wisconsin, with verifiable chain of custody documentation. Our products are manufactured in FDA-registered and HACCP GMP-certified facilities independently validated through SCS Global Services' Food Safety and Quality Programs. Every batch undergoes comprehensive testing by third-party, ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratories to verify potency, purity, and consistency — ensuring it is free from contaminants including heavy metals, residual solvents, and pesticides.

What extraction method do you use, and is your Delta-9 naturally derived or converted from CBD?

We use supercritical CO₂ extraction — widely regarded as the industry gold standard. CO₂ becomes our solvent once it reaches a critical point of pressure and temperature, allowing us to precisely extract the most delicate terpenes first, followed by cannabinoids at higher pressures and temperatures. This two-phase process preserves flavor and potency, avoids harsh chemical solvents, and prevents isomerization — the unintended conversion of cannabinoids into other compounds. The result is a cleaner, more complete cannabinoid and terpene profile with no lingering aftertaste.

How should I choose between the Daytime and Nighttime formulas?

Our Calm & Balance Daytime Formula is thoughtfully crafted for adults seeking a balanced, centered daytime experience. Our Rest & Recovery Nighttime Formula is crafted for those who prefer a more relaxed evening wind-down routine.

Each formula features carefully selected terpene profiles chosen for their aromatic characteristics and how they complement the overall formulation. Cannabinoids such as THC and CBD are combined with terpenes to create a layered, full-spectrum experience — reflecting the concept of complementary interaction within the broader endocannabinoid system.

Individual experiences may vary. Every person's endocannabinoid system is unique, and responses can differ based on personal factors and biochemistry.

Are these products vegan and natural?

Yes. Every taffy is made using 100% vegan ingredients, including plant-based pectin instead of animal-derived gelatin. We use only natural colors and flavors (no artificial additives, preservatives, or shortcuts) because what you put in your body matters.

How long does it take to feel the effects?

Edibles typically take 30 to 90 minutes to take effect, depending on factors like metabolism, body weight, and whether you've eaten recently. Cannabinoids are lipophilic, meaning they absorb better in the presence of fats — making our taffy an effective delivery format. Additionally, some medications can affect how your body processes cannabinoids: certain drugs may induce (lower) or inhibit (raise) cannabinoid levels in the body. Always start low, go slow, and be mindful of how other factors — including food, medications, or individual ECS sensitivity — may influence your experience.

Can I take these with other medications?

If you're currently taking prescription medications or have an existing health condition, we strongly recommend consulting your healthcare provider before using any cannabinoid product. Cannabinoids can interact with a variety of medications — particularly those metabolized by the liver's cytochrome P450 enzyme system. A provider familiar with cannabinoid science can help you navigate these considerations thoughtfully.
